RANNON successfully participated in the BraveTech EU program during the joint ARTEX 26 and HEDI OPEX 2026 operational experimentation campaign in Portugal from September 28 to October 4, 2026.
The experimentation campaign was organized by the European Defence Agency and the Portuguese Army.
For two weeks RANNON tested, iterated, and further developed its cUAV systems capability in a controlled test environment under operational conditions.
The team also gathered valuable feedback from armed forces and subject matter experts.

Here’s a summary of what was done in Portugal:
- RANNON showcased an air-to-air engagement and launched two rockets from a carrier drone, then returned and reloaded to take off with another two rockets.
- Members of the Special Operation Land Task Unit (SOLTU) of the Portuguese Army participated in operating RANNON’s system.
- In total, six rockets equipped with telemetry were successfully fired, and valuable trajectory data was gathered. All six rockets demonstrated safe self-destruction with an imitation charge.
ARTEX 26 & HEDI OPEX 2026 allowed RANNON to demonstrate the safe launch of rockets and the seamless operation of all components as a system. Naturally, there were lessons learned and areas for further development. These steps will contribute to RANNON’s journey towards TRL6.
RANNON’s cUAS system comprises unguided rockets (ammunition), a launcher, a targeting system, and a carrier drone.
